Child safety standards
Last updated:
Rovi has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out the standards every account must follow, how to report a concern, and what we do about it.
On this page
1Zero tolerance
Any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child is forbidden on Rovi — in posts, reels, stories, comments, private and group chats, voice rooms, live streams, profiles and games alike. There are no exceptions, including for fiction, drawings or content presented as a joke.
2Rovi is for adults only
Rovi is only for people aged 18 and over. We ask for a date of birth at sign-up and do not let anyone younger complete it. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.
3What is prohibited
- Creating, sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material of any kind, real or generated.
- Grooming: befriending or contacting a minor with the aim of sexual abuse or exploitation, or asking a minor for images, video or a meeting.
- Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images of a minor, or using them to demand anything.
- Sexualising minors in words, images, emoji, usernames or profile details.
- Trafficking, or advertising or soliciting a minor for sexual purposes.
- Helping anyone else do any of the above, or sharing instructions or places to do it.
4How to report in the app
- Open the ⋯ menu on the person’s profile, or on the post, reel, story, comment, chat, room or live stream.
- Tap Report and choose “Nudity or sexual content” — or “Something else” and describe what you saw.
- Block the person as well if you do not want them to contact you again.
Reports are confidential: the person you report is not told who reported them. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.
5What we do
- Our moderation team treats reports involving a child as the highest priority.
- We remove violating content as soon as we find it and permanently ban the accounts involved.
- We keep the relevant evidence securely so that it can be handed to law enforcement, and do not delete it earlier because an account was deleted.
- We cooperate with law enforcement requests related to child safety.
